Would you believe every single item they sell is priced between $10 and $40? That means that every piece of high-quality, fashionable jewelry and accessories are priced in a range that nearly everyone can afford. It’s extremely important to note that this jewelry is only cheaply priced, take a look around and you will see many name brands in earrings, necklaces, rings, accessories — including products from the Disney and e.l.f. collections.

Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara
Name: Diorshow Iconic Mascara
Brand: Dior
Size: 10ml
Price: $35.00
From Dior’s website:
The new Diorshow Iconic mascara is definitely innovative, offering a spectacular lash curling effect. The incredibly soft elastomer brush features slanted bristles to capture each lash one by one. In one quick stroke, with no special application method necessary, the brush acts like a brushing on lashes.Enriched with a unique lifting formula, Diorshow Iconic sculpts, stretches and curves the lashes with extreme hold and high definition.
What I liked:
- lenghtens, defines and separates lashes but still manages to look natural
- doesn’t smudge
- doesn’t clump
- long-lasting
- the packaging
What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t curl
- hard to remove
- the price
I’ve been wanting to try Diorshow Iconic for a long time, but the price tag was putting me off. After all, $35 for a mascara is a lot, what if it doesn’t deliver what it promises? So, when I went to the newsagents and found a magazine that came with a sample of Iconic I just had to buy it!
The mascara comes in a pretty silver tube with the Dior logo embossed all over it. The brush has bristles that are closed together and slanted to grab every single lash (even the little inner ones). Just like Chanel Exceptionnel, you need to twirl the brush as you apply the mascara.
The formula is quite light. A couple of coats will give your lashes amazing lenght, definition and separation, but unlike Exceptionnel, it doesn’t give that false lashes look. Instead it looks very natural. But you need to be careful or your lashes will look spidery, which isn’t good. I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this mascara. While I like the natural looking effect this provides, what I want from a mascara is that dramatic, wow look and this just don’t achieve that. But if you have naturally long-lashes or want great lenght with a natural appearance, this is the perfect mascara for you. And it doesn’t clump at all!
It doesn’t really curl my lashes like it was supposed to do, but it held the curl from my curler all day. And the staying power is amazing too. I’ve worn the mascara for the entire day and didn’t experience any smudges or flakes. It is a bit hard to remove, though.
Summary:
Overall, Diorshow Iconic is a really good mascara. It separates, defines and lenghten lashes but still manages to look natural. It doesn’t clump, flake nor smudge and it lasts all day. However, it doesn’t curl lashes, is hard to remove and is expensive.

Clinique Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer
Name: Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer
Brand: Clinique
Size: 50ml
Price: $49.00
From the packaging:
Potent moisturizer helps keep skin strong, free of the visible effects of environmental damage. Use day and night. By day, add sunscreen.
What I liked:
- moisturizes and leaves skin soft and smooth
- absorbs quickly
- no breakouts
- fragrance free
- the packaging
What I didn’t like:
- no SPF
Clinique Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer is available in three versions: very Dry to Dry, Combination Oily to Oily and Dry Combination, which is the one I have. The moisturizer is ivory in color and the consistency is creamy, not too thick and not too light either, and because you only need a very small amount, the tube will last for ages. It absorbs quickly, hydrates skin well, leaves it feeling very soft and smooth and looking clearer and healthier. I didn’t notice any breakouts and it didn’t increase my oiliness either. However, because I’m still quite young, I can’t really say if this does anything to fight the signs of aging.
I also like that the product is fragrance-free. However, you can still smell a very faint, clean-like scent. Fragrance-free means that no ingredient was added to the product to give it a certain smell, but every cosmetics ingredient has its own odor, so that is what you’re smelling.
The moisturizer comes in a green tube, which is more sanitary than a jar. However, it isn’t see-through, so you can’t see how much product is left in it.
The only downside of this moisturizer is that it doesn’t have SPF,so you still need to apply a sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful sun rays.
The products contains Dimethicone, a silicone which forms a barrier on the skin, sealing in moisture and preventing water loss. Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient that smooths kin, improving the appearance of dry patches and flakes. Another emollient ingredient used in the product is Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii). It is derived from the seeds of the karite tree and, because it is high in fatty acids, softens and moisturizes skin as well as being effective at treating severely dry skin. It also helps skin to retain elasticity.
Rosemary Extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract) and Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract are two ingredients that have antioxidant properties. However, the aromatic components present in the first and the fact the second is a potent spice may cause skin irritations in some people.
Towards the middle of the ingredients list, there’s niacinamide, which is a very promising ingredient. It increases ceramide, free fatty acids and collagen production in the skin, improves its elasticity and prevents water loss. In addition, it reduces flaking and the appearance of dry skin and restore suppleness.
Summary:
Overall, I really love this moisturizer as it worked wonders for my combination skin! My skin looks clearer, healthier, sooo soft and moisturized all day. I also didn’t experience any breakouts. In addition, the product is fragrance-free and the packaging is sanitary. However, it doesn’t contain any SPF and it is quite expensive. And, being still quite young, I can’t really say if it works to fight wrinkles.

Lancome High Definicils Mascara
Name: High Definicils Mascara
Brand: Lancome
Size: 6.5g/0.23oz
Price: $28.00
From Lancome’s website:
Your Lashes are lengthened, ultra-separated, perfectly defined with a clean, fanned-effect look. LancĂ´me’s High DĂ©finicils features the NEW Smooth Glide Brush that wraps each lash with our #1 formula and provides smooth, controlled mascara application with no clumps.
What I liked:
- lengthens and separates
- long-lasting
- holds a curl
- gives lashes a natural look
- doesn’t clump nor flake
- the packaging
What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t thicken
- the price
I’ve always heard raves about Lancome mascaras, but never really felt like spending so much for one, so I was thrilled when I found out I had won High Definicils! When I finally got it in my hands, I tried it straight away to see what the hype was about and I have to say that I was slightly disappointed. The mascara is really good but not as good as I had imagined. I guess my expectations were just too high.
Lancome High Definicils is the latest addition to the Definicils family. The mascara comes in a pretty long black tube, very classy and sleek. The formula is thick and wet, the color a rich black and the wand is thin and long with a soft rubber brush. The applicator is flexible and so, although it is easy to use and reaches even the tiniest lashes, it requires a very steady hand. It doesn’t clump and, despite not being waterproof, it doesn’t flake or rub off. It stays put all day, but is still very easy to remove.
The mascara is great for daytime as it provides amazing length, separates lashes and holds a curl really well. However, it doesn’t really add volume, which is why I felt a bit disappointed. Lashes look really long and natural, not at all over the top. If that’s what you’re looking for in a mascara, then give this a go. But personally, I prefer mascaras that provide a false-lashes effect and High Definicils doesn’t deliver that.
Summary:
Overall, High Definicils is a great everyday mascara. It lengthens, separates and holds a curl. It lasts all day, without smudging nor flaking. However, it doesn’t thicken and is very expensive.

Clarins Express Compact Foundation Wet & Dry
Name: Clarins Express Compact Foundation Wet/ Dry
Brand: Clarins
Size: 10g
Price: $38.00
From Clarins’ website:
An incredibly fine, silky, creamy powder that ensures quick and easy application while promoting total skin comfort. It evens the complexion, smoothes out skin tone and promotes a matte finish with long-lasting results thanks to specific “matte luminosity” pigments. The complexion remains the same, in any type of lighting.
What I liked:
- silky texture
- good coverage
- makes skin very soft
- matte natural finish
- longlasting
- no breakouts
- the packaging
What I didn’t like:
- not many shades available
- the price
Express Compact foundation wet & dry isn’t available in many shades and most places only carry 3 or 4 of them, usually in middle or dark tones, so not many people, esp those with pale skin, will be able to find a match. That’s why I always overlooked this product at the counter till one day the SA offered me a sample of the foundation. Unfortunately I only realised when I got home that the shade she gave me was way too dark for my pale skin (seriously, what was she thinking?) but I thought I’d try it anyway.
The foundation has a slight nice scent, a silky texture and makes my skin feel soft and velvety, thanks to silicones like Dimethicone and Cyclopentasiloxane. It can be used either with a dry or damp sponge. The coverage is good, esp when applied wet: it evens out the skin and hides redness, but not brown spots or pimples. You need to use a concealer for that. It doesn’t settle in fine lines and the finish is matte but still natural looking.
I have combination skin and my T-zone is oily, so I need a foundation that controls oil. This one contains nylon-12, nylon 6/12 and silica, which are all absorbents. However, the product controls oil well for only about 5 or 6 hours, probably less if you have oily skin.
It didn’t make me breakout and didn’t dry my skin. The staying powder is amazing: it stays put all day and doesn’t transfer on clothes.
The product also contain ascorbyl palmite, which is a form of Vitamin C, and tecopheryl acetate, a form of vitamin E. Both ingredients are effective antioxidants.
The compact is gorgeous: red and sleek. It contains a sponge to apply the product (although I prefer using a brush) and a big mirror. The price is quite steep but refills, which are quite cheaper, are available.
Summary:
Overall, this is a great powder foundation. It provides a natural matte finish, great coverage and makes skin feel very soft and smooth. The price isn’t cheap but refills are available. However it is hard to find and there aren’t many shades available.

E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color
Name: Brightening Eye Color
Brand: E.L.F
Price: $1.00
From E.L.F.’s website:
Luxuriously smooth, corn silk formula provides eyes with a neutral base and an awakened brightness.
What I liked:
- great color combos
- doesn’t crease
- lasts all day (if used with a primer)
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- sponge applicator and tiny mirror
- the size
E.L.F.’s Brightening Eye Color is available in 9 color combinations. I purchased Pretty n Pink. I really like the color combo, the shades work really well together. The colors are a bit lighter than I expected, but vivid. Even though the eye-shadows are in a powder form, they are creamy and smooth.
The colors are easy to blend, but don’t use the sponge applicator that comes with the product as it is not that good. However, I have never liked any of the applicators that come with cosmetics, to be honest. Application is so much better and easier when you use a brush. Under the sponge applicator you can find a tiny mirror. I never used it as it is so small it is very difficult to see anything.
The eyeshadow doesn’t crease, but it is not very long-lasting. However you just need to use a primer and the colors will last all day.
I also find this product to be a bit messy. It turns to loose powder very easily causing the shades to mix together in the compact. The size is very small too, which I was a bit disappointed about, but I guess it’s ok considered the price.
Summary:
Overall, this is a nice product, especially considered the very low price. The colors are easy to blend, don’t crease and work well together. The lasting power isn’t great, unless you use a primer, which will make the colors stay put all day. I don’t like the packaging as it is very small and the sponge applicator and mirror are useless.

E.L.F. Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15
Name: Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15
Brand: E.L.F.
Size: 10g
Price: $1.00
From E.L.F.’s website:
This Super Glossy SPF 15 formula fights environmental damage while leaving your lips with a healthy glossy glow. The delicious flavor and sweet scent will leave you licking your lips in delight! The perfect on the go tube that is mess proof for anywhere and anytime!
What I liked:
- the shine
- has SPF
- the coverage
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- not long-lasting
- the fragrance
- the packaging
E.L.F. Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15> is available in 8 shades. I purchased Pink Kiss, which is a light pink color and is so shiny! The gloss is a bit thick, a little gloppy but not sticky and the coverage is good.
It comes in a squeeze tube with a slant applicator. I’m not really a fan of this kind of applicators. I prefer to apply a bit of lip gloss on my lips and blend with my lip brush to get the best result.
The staying power is ok, it’s the same as that of most lip glosses. It lasts a few hours but needs to be reapplied during the day.
The lip gloss doesn’t taste bad and it has a grape-vanilla scent which is quite strong, but also nice if you like fragrances in cosmetics, unlike me.
The thing that I like the most of this lip gloss is that it has SPF. Many lip products claim to have sunscreen but they either use little effective ingredients or they use the effective ones in very little concentrations. Instead, this product uses very effective SPF ingredients. One of the active ingredients is Titanium Dioxide, which is one of the best sunscreen ingredients as it protects from both UVA and UVB rays. The other active ingredients are Benzophnone 4 and Octyl Methoxycinnamate, both used as sunscreen ingredients as well, although they’re not as effective as Titanium Dioxide. So, you’re actually protecting your lips while looking beautiful. I think these are great especially in these hot summer months and I’ll definitely buy these in different shades as they are really cheap but offer great sun protection.
Summary:
I love this product. I don’t really mind the lipgloss is not long-lasting because it has effective SPF ingredients. It is very shiny, non-sticky, the colors are beautiful and they’re so inexpensive!

E.L.F. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
Name: Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
Brand: E.L.F. Studio Line
Size: 14oz/4.0g
Price: $3.00
From E.L.F.’s website:
Create a healthy and natural glow all year long. The Blush highlights the cheeks to add a flush of color, while the Bronzer accents and contours cheekbones for beautiful definition.
What I liked:
- very pigmented
- blush gives a healthy and glowy look
- bronzer is great for contouring
- the packaging
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- bronzer not suitable for pale skin
The compact, which contains a blush and a bronzer, looks very sleek and similar to Nars’ packaging. But the E.L.F.’s one isn’t rubbery, which makes it easier to clean. It comes with a big mirror but no brush. I don’t mind that since I never use those brushes that come with products. They are never good.
Both the blush and bronzer have a slightly soft texture. The powder is finely milled but not very well pressed and can end up all over the compact after a while. Both shades are very pigmented too and a little goes a long way.
The blush is peachy pink with gold shimmers. It’s a very wearable color that gives a glowy, rosy-cheeks look. Because it is so pigmented it needs to be applied with a light hand. It starts fading after several hours and needs to be retouched a couple of times throughout the day.
The bronzer is a dark brown shade with shimmers but they can be hardly noticed once applied. As soon as I saw how dark it was I knew it wouldn’t be suitable for pale skin. Still I decided to try it. I dabbed the brush in with a very light hand, tapped off any excess and very gently swiped it on.
But it still made me look dirty and muddy. A lot of blending, time and powder later I managed to make it look decent but I still wasn’t comfortable wearing it outside so I just washed my face and removed it.
While the bronzer would work great for contouring darker skin, I’m not sure I’d recommend the duo to pale-skinned ladies since the bronzer is useless to them. But overall, £3.50 is a great deal even if you only use the blush.
Summary:
Overall, I like this duo a lot. It’s very cheap, the packaging is sleek and the colors are very pigmented. The blush is perfect to achieve a rosy cheek look but fades throughout the day, while the bronzer would work well for contouring, but is not suitable for pale skin.

E.L.F. Studio Golden Bronzer
Name: Golden Bronzer
Brand: E.L.F. Studio Line
Size: 12.3g
Price: $3.00
From E.L.F.’s website:
Create a healthy looking glow all year round! The sheer soft powders provide the perfect hue of color. Blend all 4 colors together to achieve a blend of perfection or choose your favorite color or colors to mix, match and blend.
Golden Bronzer- An illuminating shimmer that is subtle and radiant. Ideal for summer or year-round.
What I liked:
- suitable for pale skin
- works well as a highlighter
- the packaging
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- too shimmery to contour
- not very pigmented
I love bronzers but finding one that works well for my pale skin is so hard! E.L.F. Studio Golden Bronzer seemed light enough to suit fair-skinned girls, so I couldn’t wait to try it. As you can see, mine was a bit broken when I got it, but it’s nothing irreparable.
The Golden Bronzer features four shimmery shades: a dark brown, a light beige, a bronzish brown and a pinkish brown. When used together, you get a nice shimmery goldish bronze shade.
The bronzer is a bit powdery, although not so much to actually bother me. The shades are all very sheer so, if you don’t have pale skin, this won’t add any color at all. I was hoping to use this to contour, but it is way too shimmery for that. But it works really well as a highlighter to give your face a nice glow.
The bronzer comes in a beautiful and sleek black case, which looks very similar to Nars’ packaging. But I prefer E.L.F.’s because the case isn’t rubbery so it is easier to clean. It also comes with a mirror which is pretty big so you can actually see what you’re doing when you apply the bronzer.
Summary
Overall, E.L.F. Golden Bronzer is a good product, especially considered the price. It is too shimmery to be used to contour the face and is not very pigmented so the colors won’t show up on people with medium to dark skin. But it works great as a highlighter to give a beautiful glow to your face.

E.L.F. Studio Complexion Brush
Name: Studio Complexion Brush
Brand: E.L.F. Studio Line
Price: $3.00
From E.L.F.’s website:
-Creates an even and natural finish
-Expertly sweeps all types of powders across the entire face and sculpts features beautifully
-Use with pressed, loose, or translucent powders, blush or bronzer
What I liked:
- very soft
- applies powder sheerly
- doesn’t shed
- doesn’t bleed
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- too large for contouring
I was looking for a blush brush and when the ELF Studio Line was released here I decided to get the Complexion brush after hearing so many people rave about it.
The $3.00 dome shaped brush is black, has synthetic bristles, and looks very sleek and professional. But when I first saw it I was a bit disappointed as the bristles looked a bit too flimsy for me (I usually prefer something more dense).
But that turned out to be a good thing as the fluffy bristles don’t pick up too much product so even the most pigmented blushes apply sheerly and give just a soft pop of color, which is perfectt for pale-skinned girls like me. And if you want, you can also build-up the intensity of the color.
I also used the brush to contour and it did a decent job. But I still prefer to use my Sephora Professionel Angled Brush Blush #40 for that as I feel the ELF brush is a bit too wide to contour properly.
But overall, the brush is perfect to apply any type of powder, either dry or wet, to you face and the bristles are insanely soft! This is definitely one of the softest brushes I have ever used.
Also, the brush doesn’t shed nor bleed and reshapes well after washing. It has a strong chemical scent, but that disappears as soon as you wash it.
Summary
Overall, I love this brush. The bristles are very soft and pick up just the right amount of product to give your cheeks a nice and sheer pop of color. It doesn’t shed nor bleed and it is very inexpensive. However, the brush is too big for contouring.

E.L.F. Cosmetics
I don't remember exactly how I discovered e.l.f. - eyes lips face, but I know that it was in 2008th when I first heard of their site and I immediately ordered a couple of their products. What first attracted me to them is certainly a price that was low. Product price was in a range of $ 1.00 to $ 3.50! You may be wondering what's the catch?
Well, it's simple - there is no catch. This cosmetics brand was founded by Scott-Vincent Borba (now he has own line of skin care products - BORBA Skin Care) in 2004. in New York and e.l.f. was something quite new in the world of cosmetics. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that the founders of the E.L.F. decided to provide quality products at really affordable prices. And when I say reasonable prices, then they really are.
Simply, e.l.f doesn't tends to have a great and beautiful packaging, they advertise using only the Internet to access potential customers as yourself + satisfied customers themselves spread good news about them. The ingredients used are of good quality and are not tested on animals, which is another plus (especially for those who buy only cosmetics that are not tested on animals).
e.l.f. currently has 3 product lines:
* "ordinary" (white packaging, cheaper line)
* mineral (mineral products, cosmetics, are more expensive than "regular" products)
* studio (some professional lines and better quality than "regular" products,
prices are also little expensive)
Where and how to buy e.l.f. products?
You can buy e.l.f. products on their official web site
If you have any questions, ask me in your commentary on this post or send me mail. Tell me your impressions about e.l.f.!!
